Ann Marie Brown serves as Alpha Delta Kappa International President for the 2023—2025 Biennium.


Her biennium theme is Bridge to the Future. It represents the forward-moving initiatives that Alpha Delta Kappa is embarking on for a continued bright future for the organization and its membership.


 Ann Marie earned her M.S. and B.S. at the State University of New York, Plattsburgh. She taught family and consumer sciences for 34 years, primarily at Malone Middle School in upstate New York. During a maternity leave from teaching, she supervised student teachers for SUNY Plattsburgh. She was active in the NYS Teacher Center initiative and was Policy Board Chair for the Adirondack Teacher Center for fifteen years. A lifetime member of professional organizations of the American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences, New York State Association of Family & Consumer Science Educators, and New York State United Teachers, serving in many leadership roles. 


 She was elected to service at the Alpha Delta Kappa International level beginning in 2013 as a Two-Year Member of IEB. Other International Offices include the International Vice President of the Southwest Region and the International Executive Board Chairman from 2017 to 2019.


 Ann Marie was initiated into the N.Y. Alpha Delta Chapter in September 1991, making her a silver sister. She was New York State president from 2002 to 2004 with the state convention at the beautiful Mirror Lake Inn, Lake Placid. Her first International convention attended was the 50th International Convention in Kansas City, and she came full circle with the 75th in 2023.


 Ann Marie and her husband, Wayne, moved from the Northeast in 2004 to Chandler, Arizona. They were born, educated, married, and then raised two sons, Spencer and Stuart, while living and teaching in New York State. She and Wayne have seven grandchildren: one grandson and three granddaughters residing in Broomfield, CO, and one grandson and two granddaughters in Midlothian, VA.
