Bio

After graduating Louisiana State University (B.S., secondary education math and speech) I was thrilled to teach at my high school alma mater with some of my favorite teachers who were charter members of Louisiana Alpha Psi. Three years later I was initiated and have been a member for 40 years, serving in various leadership roles at chapter, district, state, and international levels. With encouragement from my LA Alpha Psi sisters, I returned to Louisiana State University for a M.S. degree in administration and supervision. I have taught most levels of high school math during my 31 years as a classroom teacher. My favorite subject to teach was trigonometry. Its Greek letter formulas really appealed to me. After leaving the classroom I spent three years as the high school’s instructional coach, followed by five years as an elementary school assistant principal. Three of my greatest achievements in education are seeing a number of my students become educators, writing a state approved curriculum for a new course, Algebra III, and retiring with 40 years in Louisiana education.
